Palletizing and depalletizing systems
Palletizing lines group cartons, film packs or crates into layers and stack them on pallets automatically, and depalletizers do the reverse, feeding empty bottles onto a filling line. The range covers complete robot palletizing lines at up to 6 layers a minute, compact robot cells for one or two lines and bottle depalletizers for up to 50,000 bottles an hour. They are built by our manufacturing partners and sold, shipped and supported by Lion Packing Systems.
Which palletizing system fits your line?
Palletizing lines with robot grouping
Complete lines for cartons, film packs and plastic crates: a robot or servo system groups the packs into a layer, and the layer is stacked on the pallet. The LP-R470-MD80T reaches 6 layers a minute and the LP-R470-MD70-Ⅰ 4.5, with optional tier sheets between layers. The LP-MD-60T handles 36,000 bottles an hour at 95% efficiency or more. The lines need air at 0.4–0.6 MPa.
| Model | Type | Speed | Power, 3P 380 V | Air use |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| LP-MD-60T | Bottle palletizer | 36,000 bottles/h | 25 kW | 6 m³/h |
| LP-R470-MD80T | Robot servo grouping | 6 layers/min | 20 kW + 44.3 kW robot | 550 L/min |
| LP-R470-MD80 | Robot grouping | 5 layers/min | 27 kW + 26.9 kW robot | 500 L/min |
| LP-R470-MD70-Ⅰ | Robot grouping, optional tier sheets | 4.5 layers/min | 16.5 kW + 26.9 kW robot | 400 L/min |
Robot palletizing cells
Robot cells take a smaller footprint than a full line. The LP-R470-MD70-Ⅱ stacks 4.5 layers a minute and the LP-R470-MD45 3, and the LP-R180-MD-Ⅰ picks cartons 6–8 times a minute with a gripper made for your product. Specifications for the LP-R4 are available on request.
| Model | Type | Speed | Power, 3P 380 V | Air use |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| LP-R470-MD70-Ⅱ | Robot cell | 4.5 layers/min | 16.5 kW + 26.9 kW robot | 400 L/min |
| LP-R470-MD45 | Robot cell | 3 layers/min | 16.5 kW + 26.9 kW robot | 400 L/min |
| LP-R180-MD-Ⅰ | Robot cell, custom gripper | 6–8 picks/min | 1.2 kW + 11 kW robot | 100 L/min |

Bottle depalletizers
Depalletizers lift whole layers of empty bottles off the pallet and push them onto the line, removing tier sheets as they go. The three models differ in the height at which bottles leave the machine: median outlet at 1,600 mm, high outlet at 3,500 mm, or super-high to suit your line. They need air at 0.5–0.6 MPa, about 500 L/min.
| Model | Outlet height | Speed | Machine size (mm) | Weight (kg) | Power (kW) |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| LP-XPD-36 | Median, 1600 mm | 50,000 bottles/h | 3480 × 2430 × 4980 | 8000 | 21.47 |
| LP-XPG-50 | High, 3500 mm | 50,000 bottles/h | 2920 × 2620 × 4500 | 5000 | 28.85 |
| LP-XPGG-50 | Super-high, custom | 48,000 bottles/h | 4150 × 2280 × 5000 | 10000 | 25.9 |

Palletizing: common questions
Robot palletizing cell or a full palletizing line?
A robot cell picks one case or one row at a time and takes little space, which suits one or two packing lines. A full line groups a whole layer before stacking it and runs at 4.5–6 layers a minute, which suits high-speed beverage and bottling lines.
What can the palletizers handle?
Cartons, shrink-wrapped film packs and plastic crates. Tier sheets between layers are optional, and the gripper and layer pattern are set up for your packs and pallet size.
What does a depalletizer do?
It unloads pallets of empty bottles layer by layer and feeds them onto the filling line, so bottles do not have to be tipped out by hand. Our depalletizers handle up to 50,000 bottles an hour.
How does Lion support machines built by partner factories?
Lion Packing Systems is the sales agent for these machines. We check the model against your product, pack and speed, manage the order and shipping, and provide installation guidance, training and spare parts in Spanish and English.
